Dear Families, Students and Staff,

As the holiday season is fast upon us, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support and dedication you have provided our students and schools over the past several months.

 

First, I want to thank you for participating in our local election and making your voices heard. Your engagement is vital to the success of our school district and ensures that we can continue to offer the best education possible for our students. The passing of Measure N is a huge victory for our schools and students. The funding from this measure will allow us to continue facility upgrades and repairs, enhance school security and safety features, and build new schools to meet the demands of residential development.

 

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our school board members, both current and outgoing, for their unwavering commitment to our schools. Their leadership and service have been instrumental in guiding our district through challenges and successes alike.

 

Additionally, I am delighted to welcome our newly elected school board members. We are excited to partner with you and look forward to the fresh perspectives and energy you will bring to the important work ahead. Together, we will continue to make decisions that prioritize our students’ success and well-being.

 

We are closely monitoring revenues at the state level as we begin the development of the 2025-26 district budget. Revenues appear to be trending a bit higher than projections but still significantly below recent year levels. The Governor will share his initial budget in mid-January, and this will give us our first look at expected funding levels for next year. We will keep you informed as we learn more. 

 

As we reflect on the past few years and look ahead to the new one, I am reminded that while the winter months can bring their challenges, they also offer opportunities for connection and kindness. Whether it’s navigating college applications, balancing family dynamics or managing financial pressures, the holiday season can sometimes feel overwhelming. Please continue to look out for your fellow neighbor or friend because the simplest of gestures can make a world of difference. Let’s continue to support one another and spread positivity during this time.
